The is a basic firearms safety course. This course is classroom only. If you are looking for the perfect training to teach your family, children, or learn yourself the safe practices of a firearm to prevent a mishap, then this is the course for you. With over 30 years of firearms training experience as a Navy Gunner's Mate and Navy Law Enforcement Officer, we teach the basics to handle, store, transport, and use a firearm. Our courses teach students to respect the firearm and not fear it. Forget all the funny stories you see on TikTok and YouTube where people go out and shoot a gun for the first time and injure themselves. We want to prevent that by providing true safety practices, and teaching you to consistently rehearse these same safety practices in your home, when storing a firearm, and while at the range to keep you safe and those around you. This course teaches the basics of firearms safety, range safety, transportation and storages safety moving into components of a handgun and rifle, followed by shooting fundamentals, jams & stoppages, ending with some hands on training without live ammunition. This is perfect for new gun owners, families that want to teach their children about firearms safety, and teaching gun owners how to remove the dangers of having a firearm in your home. We have instructed for over 7 years with youth shooting programs resulting in zero mishaps and local acknowledgement of the safety that these student athletes present everytime they are at the range. Don't be fooled by fast paced instructors who teach unsafe practices, they can get someone injured and leave you complacent at the range. Cancellation Policy
This class is held in a classroom environment and no live ammunition will be present during the training. The course lasts approximately 4 hours. Participants are allowed to bring their own firearms into the class, but they must be cased, unloaded, and an instructor will clear and safe the firearms at an identified clearing area to verify the firearm is clear and safe. During the course the instructors will verify all firearms are clear and safe during all manipulations for the training. There will be unload and reload of magazine training, so bring 2 empty magazines to the class. Participants can bring a rifle or handgun or both. We will cover basics of a revolver, but most instruction will cover semi-automatic pistols and rifles, the most common used today. Bring eye protection (clear) to wear during manipulations of the firearm.
